Moon over Northumberland
A front seat car passenger was photographed baring his backside at a speed camera in Northumberland. The “mooning” man was snapped by the mobile camera as the black BMW X5 drove past on the A1171 Dudley Lane in Cramlington last month.
His behaviour has been labelled as “dangerous and offensive” by road safety campaigners. Police may take action against the man for public order offences and not wearing a seat belt.
Souped-up Segway?

It may look like the most dangerous motorbike in the world but this new invention is actually the latest form of green transport.
The electric Uno is the brainchild of 18-year-old Canadian Ben Gulak who spent several years developing the bike, which is controlled entirely by body movements.
The machine actually has two wheels, side-by-side, and uses gyroscopic technology to stay upright. It moves in the direction the rider leans – and the more you lean, the faster you go.
Ben claims that the bike could help beat pollution and he was inspired to design it after visiting China and seeing all the smog there.
He says: “The bike is fairly easy to ride, but takes a bit of getting used to because you have to learn to trust it.”
Fire in the hole!

Harvard Square was closed and four buildings evacuated early Friday when several manholes exploded and burned in Cambridge.
Crews were called to the scene near Massachusetts Avenue and Dunster Street about 2:30 a.m. after some kind of cable malfunction sparked the explosions and electrical fires.
Flames were roaring out of four manholes and the immediate area was closed as part of a safety precaution as thick black carbon-monoxide-filled smoke billowed high into the air above the square.

There will be some occasional tech stuff but mostly just general interest items. Links back to my source can be found at the bottom left of each post. Go to those links.
