Abracadabra! Disappearo! Escape-o!

Over 300 Pagan worshipers locked up in British prisons have been given the right to keep magic wands in their cells.

The prison service consulted with the Pagan Federation as part of a move to protect convicts’ rights and ensure equality among different faiths before making the ruling.

Inmates will now be allowed to collect twigs from prison grounds and decorate them to use in rituals. The move also allows the Pagans to keep other “religious artefacts” which include hoodless robes and rune stones.

Another Chilean Volcano Picture: Ash and Lightning

After 9,000 years of silence, Chile’s Chaitén volcano (pictured on May 3) is erupting with lava, ash—and lightning (full story).

Since the volcano awoke on May 2, it has continued erupting intermittently, blanketing the area in ash and forcing more than 4,000 people to flee.

Sound sleeper: Boy, 3, sleeps through lightning strike

A three-year-old Welsh boy slept through a lightning strike which blew a hole in his bedroom wall. Elis Roberts’s parents found him fast asleep in his room, which was covered in masonry, plaster and dust, reports the BBC.

The lightning blew all the light bulbs and electrical equipment in the house and neighbouring homes as storms hit Flint, north Wales.
