Peasant Olympics — Great idea

Rice-planting, tire-rolling and, er, kite-flying – welcome to China’s Sixth National Peasants’ Games.
Hot on the heels of the Beijing Olympics comes a showcase of the down-to-earth skills of the country’s 900million rural folk. The scale is impressive – 3,500 farmers compete in more than 180 events and the opening ceremony used 16,000 performers.
