Beer is great with pizza

Link

bearcub.jpgA bear cub drew a crowd of spectators at a Lake Tahoe neighborhood as it munched on barbecue-chicken-and-jalapeno pizza in the back seat of a vintage red Buick convertible.

It also apparently washed it down with a swig of a Jack Daniel’s mixer, an Absolut vodka and tonic, and a beer taken from a cooler, the vehicle’s owner said.

One small balloon plus one jet stream equals 2,500 miles

A balloon released by a 5-year-old boy in the UK was found by a British soldier clearing landmines in Iraq.

Kelvin Bielunski received a letter from Corporal Pete Allen telling him how the balloon had made him smile. The balloon was one of many released by Kelvin’s class on June 7th as part of a competition to raise funds for Brewster Avenue Infant School in Peterborough, Cambs.

Headteacher Liz Waterland said: “The balloon must have caught a jet stream and floated until it burst.”

Fire and ice cream

An ice cream has been created that is so hot customers must sign a waiver before tasting it.

Cold Sweat was created by shop owner when he wanted to create an ice cream to appeal to Hispanic customers. Wilson started out experimenting with jalapenos in vanilla ice cream which was unsuccessful – and finally ended up with Cold Sweat.

The ice cream is made with three kinds of peppers and two kinds of hot sauce at the shop in Cary, North Carolina.

According to newsobserver.com customer Rod McCallum said: “I thought it was a cool idea, but I didn’t think he’d make it that hot. It tasted like fire – with a side of fire.”

And it seemed like such a good idea at the time

British motorist John Hopwood concocted a novel scheme to avoid payment when he was given a speeding fine — simply switch the road signs.
Hopwood, 44, had been snapped by a speed camera breaking the 30 miles per hour limit. So he went to a 40 mph area, removed a red “40” warning sign, drove back to the 30 mph area, attached it to a lamp post and took a photo as “proof” that his offence of driving at 48 mph had not been so bad. However, suspicion soon arose when other drivers started querying the sign.

“This was a stupid act, bound to fail,” Judge Anthony Ensor at Manchester Crown Court was quoted by media as telling Hopwood, who admitted trying to pervert justice.

He was ordered Tuesday to serve an intermittent custodial sentence of 28 weeks which requires him to spend his weekends behind bars and told to pay 2,763 pounds in legal costs.
