Getting to work Friday in Miami was a mooooving experience

Miami Herald
Friday’s morning rush hour on Interstate 75 was slowed by a roadblock — cows. Florida Department of Transportation Road Rangers responded to the highway’s southbound lanes in Northwest Miami-Dade County at about 8:30 a.m. to deal with the animals, which were spotted by traffic helicopters. No injuries were reported.

South Florida developers and land owners sometimes keep cows on empty property to help reduce the tax rate, though the animals are not common in the area. The tax rate for the vacant land is reduced because it is reclassified as agricultural.
