Selling a stolen washing machine? Take the clothes out first.

Reuters via tbs.com

An Israeli was charged with burglary after laundry left in a washing machine he was trying to sell showed it had been stolen.

The man raised the suspicions of detectives who spotted him attempting to peddle the appliance on a street in the southern city of Beersheba.

………………..

The owner’s clothing was still in the machine which allowed the cops to trace it.

You can never find a hose when you need one

In what must have been a scene straight out of the Keystone Cops, a panicked man, dragging a blazing trailer of hay behind his pickup truck, strewed burning hay around Hart Township in Michigan while frantically searching for a hose to put the fire out. Authorities, who managed to put out the fires before serious damage occurred, said the trailer fire apparently started from defective brakes.

Today’s Really Stupid Crook

An 18 year old Fort Worth, Texas, wanna-be crook found himself in deep trouble after making gang signs at a passing car. Turns out the people in the unmarked car were undercover gang cops cruising an area known for gang activity. Backup in the form of marked police cars were called to detain the teen for “disorderly conduct/gesture” and during pat-down they found a bottle of Xanax which the teen couldn’t explain. When asked for ID the boy said it was in his bedroom and led the officers inside where, on a table, officers spotted a baggie with what appeared to be cocaine inside.

Well, since cops are a suspicious lot, narcotics officers were notified and they obtained a search warrant for the home where they found:

1. An Uzi

2. An AR-15

3. A .44-caliber Magnum pistol

4. A 12 gauge shotgun

5. Assorted other handguns

6. 3.6 kilos of cocaine

7. A pound of marijuana

8. $65,000 in cash

9. Six wrappings from kilos of cocaine that had been opened and apparently sold/distributed

Eighteen year old Alex Perez Jr. and his seventeen year old brother were arrested and are now chatting with agents from the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Maybe flashing that gang sign wasn’t such a hot idea.
