Does your heroin smell strange lately?

fish-bait ‘heroin’Three people who mixed vinegar with catfish bait and tried to sell it as heroin got hooked by undercover officers. Authorities said the three also tried to sell fake LSD.John Burke, director of the Greater Warren County Drug Task Force, said he didn’t know what might happen if someone actually injected a bait-vinegar concoction. Authorities don’t know whether anyone else bought the counterfeit drug………………………..The last catfish bait I saw was a bucket of chicken guts left to “ripen” in the sun. Seems like you might notice the difference between that and heroin.

I’m sure Barry Manilow will be pleased to hear this…

Manilow

A US judge is punishing noisy neighbours – by forcing them to listen to Barry Manilow. Also on Judge Paul Sacco’s punishment playlist are The Carpenters, Dolly Parton and Barney The Purple Dinosaur.Offenders who break the noise laws in the Colorado city of Fort Lupton have to listen to the music – loud – for one hour. Judge Sacco explained: “When you have a person playing rap at extreme volumes all over the city, and they have to sit down and listen for an hour to Barry Manilow, it’s a horrible punishment.”

Fade to black to be green…

CouncilA Yorkshire council has come up with a radical new way to save money – turning off the street lamps at night. The idea is part of a ‘sustainable street lighting strategy’ to be considered by City of York Council’s ruling executive, says the York Press.Paul Thackray, the council’s head of highway infrastructure, says it would minimise the use of natural resources, cut the energy used to power lights, and reduce light pollution……………………..Isn’t the idea of streetlights to light up the night?
