Crime tip: Don’t break into a building full of police officers

More at Yahoo! NewsTwo men who police said broke into a building to steal copper wiring got more than they bargained for: a room full of police officers. Police said 26-year-old James Ayers and Frederick Guilliee, 38, broke into the 40,000-square-foot building at about 6 p.m. Tuesday.What they hadn’t planned for is the Antioch police K-9 unit who was holding a training session there.

A man accused of snatching another man’s false teeth straight from his mouth during a fight has been charged with robbery. Robert Henry Stahl, 62, was charged Thursday in Delaware Circuit Court with felony robbery and battery causing bodily injury, a misdemeanor. If convicted of robbery, he could face two to eight years in prison.

Monkeys want their own cell phones?

Monkeys mug touristmacaque.jpgA visitor to Fuzhou Zoo had his phone stolen and his arm scratched after he took photos of a group of Assamese macaques. Zheng Dong was taking snaps of the monkeys when one of them suddenly snatched his phone and started chewing it.Zheng climbed over the railings [a mistake] and tried to get his phone but three of the macaques flew into a rage and scratched his arm. With the help of zookeepers Zheng got his phone back, but it was damaged beyond repair. He is now claiming compensation from the zoo.

Wheelchair-bound burglarPolice in Germany say they have arrested a burglar in a wheelchair.Officers say they caught Michael Maier, 43, in his wheelchair, red-handed. He was allegedly using a chisel and a screwdriver to open the front door of an office in Saarbruecken.A police spokesman said: “He had already broken open the door of a shop further down the street, but had given up and moved to the next building as the first didn’t have wheelchair access.”
