If once you fail the driving test try, try, try, try…well you get the idea

Cha Sa-Soon, an elderly South Korean woman, has inadvertently reaffirmed age-old jokes about female drivers by closing on a world record for most failed driver’s tests. The 68 year old pensioner from the Wanju county has failed the theory section 775 times.

Yum, yum! Jellyfish caramel!

Recently, Weird Asia News reported on the imminent invasion of Japan by legions of humongous jellyfish. The 6-foot-wide, 440-pound monsters known as echizen kurage threaten to devastate fisheries and even damage nuclear powerplants.

The pressure to find a practical use for these troublesome creatures has triggered the usual creative reaction from the Japanese. Unfortunately, “creative” and “appetizing” are not necessarily synonymous. Um, jellyfish caramels, anyone?

That’s right: In what is surely a first for the confectionery world, students at Obama Fisheries High School have developed a type of caramel candy flavored with a powder made of jellyfish

Flying the decidedly unfriendly skies

Pilots and cabin crew have come to blows on an international flight bound for India, media reports say. The scuffle is said to have begun as an argument in the plane’s cockpit over claims of sexual harassment but spilled into the galley, startling passengers.

One pilot and one air hostess suffered bruises, as punches were thrown.

The incident took place over Pakistan on an Air India flight from the United Arab Emirates to Delhi, with 106 passengers and seven crew on board.

Uncle George! Is that you?

Scientists yesterday announced the discovery of the oldest fossil skeleton of a human ancestor in Ethiopia’s harsh Afar desert.

The find reveals that our forebears underwent a previously unknown stage of evolution more than a million years before Lucy, the iconic early human ancestor specimen that walked the Earth 3.2 million years ago.

The skeleton belonged to a small-brained, 110-pound female nicknamed ‘Ardi.’

The fossil puts to rest the notion that a chimpanzee-like missing link would eventually be found at the root of the human family tree.
