Fore! Plunk!

There’s something lurking in the depths of Loch Ness, Scotland and it has nothing to do with monsters.

On a recent expedition to try and find evidence of the Loch Ness monster, U.S. research teams came across something quite unexpected — not a prehistoric creature of the deep but thousands of plastic covered golf balls.

Mike O’Brien of SeaTrepid explains: “At first we thought they were mushrooms, there were so many. But when we lowered the camera, we were surprised to see that they were in fact golf balls.”

The smattering of balls were found roughly 300 yards from the beach and 100 yards from the shore where it is thought locals and visitors have been using the loch to practice their driving skills for quite some time.

Cat is a licensed hypnotherapist: “You are very sleeepy…you will give me fiiish”

The regulation of hypnotherapists in the UK is so lax that even a cat can become accredited, the BBC has found.

Chris Jackson, presenter of Inside Out in the North East and Cumbria, registered pet George with three industry bodies.

Each one accepted a certificate from the non-existent Society of Certified Advanced Mind Therapists as proof of George’s credentials.

A zoo in Gaza has got around animal import restrictions by dyeing stripes on donkeys to make ‘zebras’.

The owner of the Marah Land zoo in Gaza City said he had used masking tape and black hair dye, applied with a paint-brush, to disguise the white females.

World’s end in 2012? Not according to this Mayan Elder

Screen shot 2009-10-12 at 9.36.19 AM

A Mayan elder says he is sick of people asking him whether the world will end on December 21, 2012.  Apolinario Chile Pixtun says the date will not bring the end of the world – despite claims the Mayan calendar shows that time will “run out”.

“I came back from England last year and, man, they had me fed up with this stuff,” he told the Daily Telegraph.

Mr Pixtun, a Guatemalan, says the doomsday theories spring from Western, not Mayan ideas.

UFO cow snatchers

A couple traveling along the river in the area north of Rosario claimed having seen an animal being abducted by a flying saucer. “Later, the both vanished,” they said.

The likelihood that cows could fly was always relegated to the province of the impossible. But to Sergio and Laura, this changed last Monday afternoon, when they traveled along the coast near Puerto Gaboto, and believed that they saw a cow in the sky, abducted by a UFO.
