One person dies in 737 Crash. If not a miracle it’s close to one.

A Boeing 737 jetliner with 131 passengers aboard crashed as it prepared to land and broke into three pieces at a Colombian island in the Caribbean early Monday. The region’s governor said it was a miracle that only one person died.

Colombian Air Force Col. David Barrero said officials were investigating reports the plane had been hit by lightning before crashing at 1:49 a.m. (3:49 a.m. EDT; 0649 GMT) on San Andres Island, a resort area of 78,000 people about 120 miles (190 kilometers) east of the Nicaraguan coast.

Wi-Fi making kids sick? Not likely. Dumb parents? Likely.

A group of central Ontario parents is demanding their children’s schools turn off wireless internet before they head back to school next month, fearing the technology is making the kids sick.

Some parents in the Barrie, Ont., area say their children are showing a host of symptoms, ranging from headaches to dizziness and nausea and even racing heart rates.

They believe the Wi-Fi setup in their kids’ elementary schools may be the problem.

A bit breezy, I would think

A motorcyclist caught the eye of a police officer in Ontario Sunday, not just because he was speeding, but because he wasn’t wearing pants or underwear. The 40-year-old Hamilton man was clad only in a T-shirt, the Hamilton Advocate reported.

Moooving trophy

When it comes to mooing, 10-year-old Austin Siok is an expert.

The Dyer Intermediate School fifth-grader last week won an annual mooing contest at the Wisconsin State Fair because he sounded more like a real cow than the other about 80 contest participants. And since then he hasn’t stopped mooing, said Austin’s mom, Dawn Siok, 47, of Burlington.

“He’s pretty much mooed everywhere we’ve went now,” said Siok, an administrative assistant for Kohl’s. “He mooed at the bank and he mooed at Kohls. Everyone wants to hear him moo.”
