Fight Against Maturity

It’s a red carpet and the perks are great…but it’s a lonely job.

I don’t think I have ever seen a picture that better illustrates the awesome authority and singular responsibility and burden of the Presidency, no matter who occupies the office.

At last! An honest politician

A Croatian politician has been swept to power after promising voters he would rip them off at every opportunity.

Bare-faced Josko Risa was voted in as mayor in Prolozac with a landslide victory using the slogan: “All for me – nothing for you.”

“I just told them the truth. This town will be like my family business. If I get a little something, so do they,” he explained.

Salt Lake City, Idaho. Wait. What?? Let’s see that map again.

ABC News: NYC Mayor

When Mayor Michael Bloomberg called in to his weekly radio show Friday from a media conference out West, he could hardly contain his excitement as he described the beautiful mountains and weather out in “Salt Lake City, Idaho.”

The problem, of course, is that there is no such place. Bloomberg was in Sun Valley, Idaho — and Salt Lake City is 300 miles away and in a different state.

An offer you can’t refuse?

Burial plot

Officials in an Italian town are selling lottery tickets – for places in the local cemetery.

Marano, near Naples, has run out of room at the town’s cemetery and had to create a new “emergency” graveyard containing 48 plots. But they feared people would try to bribe officials to get plots and decided to stage a lottery instead.

The public lottery means families winning places will be guaranteed a grave plot.

Tip for Clinton, McCain, Huckabee, et al…

The quickest way to lose my vote is by way of a computer generated “information call”. If you want to get your message over to me, use a live caller. The use of the computer generated calls, although they allow you to contact many more people, shows the actual contempt in which you hold voters.

Our primary is coming up and I am being bombarded with these calls. After I have interrupted what I am doing and run from one end of the house to the other to be greeted by a computer, I am not in the most receptive frame of mind. Too bad there is no checkbox for “None of the above”.
