How much is that per box?
Two sisters from Virginia sold their Illinois-shaped corn flake on eBay Friday night for $1,350.
“We were biting our nails all the way up to the finish, seeing what would happen,” said Melissa McIntire, 23. “There’s a lot of relief involved.”
The winner of the auction, which lasted more than a week, is the owner of a trivia Web site who wants to add the corn flake to a traveling museum.
Way to go, Ola Mae! Never too old.
Ola Mae Venable spent only three days in eighth grade before deciding she’d rather work on her family’s farm. That was in the 1940s. Now, at the age of 79, Venable is a great-grandmother and the proud holder of a diploma.
Venable earned a General Educational Development diploma on Tuesday when she passed her final math test.
Michigan: Record snowfall this year. Darn that global warming!
Snowfall records have been kept in Ann Arbor, Michigan, since 1880 and this year has already more than doubled the previous record. As an example, snowfall in March, so far with a week to go, has been 16.7 inches. “Normal” is just 8.3 inches. And it likely isn’t over yet. Ann Arbor’s average snowfall in April is 2.5 inches.
Evidently someone forgot to let Michigan in on global warming.
